I'm not a social influencer or anything fun like that -- I'm just a gal who works from home and uses video conferencing every day for her job. The built-in webcams on my MacBook Air and Microsoft Surface Pro 3 were grainy and low-light, so I wanted something that would flatter my face and skin a little better. Two steps: the camera quality and the lighting. This little camera does both fairly well if all you care about is doing away with the grainy and poor lighting. The HD quality looks superb compared to everyone else's Zoom videos, and the adjustable light ring helps with the shadows and evening light. My main gripe is the camera seems to oversaturate the colors by overexaggerating the dark and shadows. I wish there was a way to manually adjust the exposure, contrast, and darks, but for the price point I'm fine. After all, the necessity of this webcam for my corporate tech job is extra compared to what a Tik Tokker needs.

Razer’s KIYO is a very good starting camera. Device: The KIYO comes with the camera in a very nice box, and a manual and stickers. Steps: KIYO requires the Razer Synapse 3 software in order to use appropriately. This software has been uh, criticized a lot by the gaming community because of its data collecting. However aside from that, it works just fine. Once you install the software, it’ll detect the Kiyo and update the firmware in the camera. As of 11/13, it still getting updates. Microphone: It’s not great, but assuming you’re a gamer, you probably already have a headset or microphone installed. For normal zoom environments, I recommend a quiet room or a dedicated microphone. Quality: It’s a pretty good looking device, the mechanism that holds it on your monitor or desk is very strong and can even be stood up. The lens is small but mighty, 1080p looks really good, but adjusting the settings will yield better results color wise for your streams. Features: integrated ring light, pretty dang good and bright. I looked very good on camera. I definitely prefer this model to any of to a 4K Brio Logitech camera. Which I consider overkill. This camera is great for zoom, it has good lighting and great autofocus. I just wish it did 1080p and 60FPS. It can do 720p and 60FPS or 1080p with 30fps. Overall: Aside from that I highly recommend the Razer Kiyo. It truly makes an excellent companion for both gamers and students or just presenters. It works on Microsoft Teams and Zoom incredibly wells. The software is really easy to install, and the ring light packs a good punch. Just make sure you wash your face otherwise the light will reflect off your grease lmao. If you can get it for less than 100, you have a good camera with good warranty and great views.

I purchased this camera based on reviews that praised it for low light performance, and having the integrated light. In my office I have a large window located behind and to my right. This camera performed very badly in the backlight and sidelight conditions. The integrated light ring didn't help at all. It makes very little difference if you have strong natural light coming from behind or side.

Overall the Razer Kiyo is a good camera. Not great, and definitely not bad. The picture quality is supreme in most regards, being rivaled only by that of one Logitech camera in the non 4k department. The auto focus tends to be a bit inconsistent. But, works well 98% of the time. For anyone streaming with a green screen, I do find myself messing with the configurations more than I would like to eliminate shadows and glare. Could just be my lighting setup though so don't take this critique as much of a consideration for yourself. Overall, 8/10 product. 4 stars.

this web cam is probably the best for a basic webcam for zoom class meeting and just hanging out with friend over discord. i can saw i love the Ring light and the auto focus is great. so in the long run for a web cam its really good. if you want a streaming web cam i would go for the kyio pro.
