I bought this webcam for primarily three reasons: 1. I desperately wanted something better than the built in MacBook webcam or the current external webcam (the Logitech C270) because both of those did not perform great, especially in low light. I hated how awful my the quality of my picture was on meetings. 2. It was made by Anker, who always makes great stuff. 3. It was only $60 (actually $50 on sale). Based on the price, I wasn’t actually expecting much… I would have just been happy higher res and a little better low light performance. But man, this thing blew away my expectations. I pulled up the software to configure the camera and the picture looked awesome. Light years beyond what I currently had. I loved the wide angle, but I also loved that you could adjust it so that you could get a more narrow framing. But what about low-light. The best test I could do was getting on a call in the early morning hours, just as the sun was coming up with no lights on and just the light from my monitors shining on me. This camera sucked up every bit of light coming from those monitors and STILL looked great. My only complaint is that I did have a point where the auto-focus went a little wonky. I got out of focus on the frame and it would just not automatically adjust back. I had to move it close toward the camera to get it to recognize me and readjust which was a little awkward since I was on a call. :-D But this has only happened once so far out of dozens of uses. Really lucked out on this one. Anker comes through again. Highly recommend.

I have owned a few Anker products. I have a couple of their bluetooth speakers for around the house and outdoors, and a set of their Soundcore Liberty earbuds. Al have served me well and quality wise have been great. I grabbed this webcam for my home computer. After setting it up on top of my monitor, installing the software, it was ready to go. No issues at all with the setup. The one issue I ran into was no matter what my face seemed off-center, even though the camera was pointed directly at me. If this happens to you, open the AnkerWork software and go into the Device settings. You will see an "Angle and Frame" section where you can adjust the image position. After I figured that out, it was everything I needed as a webcam. I cannot comment on the microphone since I use either a Blue Yeti or the mic on my SteelSeries headset.

First off this camera is unexpectedly large. Not obnoxiously large but larger than I expected. The camera is well made and has a good feel in the hand. I like the built in privacy shade. The camera holds itself very well to the top of my very thin monitor without intruding on the precious screen real estate. The audio sounds thin and tinny when recording my voice, still it was a big improvement from the inexpensive camera I had, but I was expecting better. You have to download the app to adjust the microphone sensitivity. You can choose between 180 degrees and 90 degrees, but honestly it was hard to tell that either worked with limiting background noise. The camera also has some settings in the application, but it basically just zooms in on the image and crops it rather than truly adjusting the field of view. Not the greatest, I found that limiting the field of view of the image in the software made the image look grainy. The camera took a firmware update right out of the box, this had to be done though the application. While it prompts. You to create an account, I just skipped it and it still allowed the update and complete access tot he settings. Now this is still a pretty slick little camera and I like it, in fact I bought a second for my other household computer. But what was disappointing was that the usbc to usba cord it comes with is very short maybe 2.5 feet tops. Luckily its detachable and you can substitute something longer. Overall I think its worth the money and a nice improvement over a 720 webcam. Microphone is decent, not best in class.

Better than I expected! I got this to pair with a new Mac Studio. I previously had an iMac which had a built in webcam that I used for my zoom meetings. When I got my Mac Studio I needed a cam to use for the same zoom meetings and such. This one seemed to have a similar angle to the iMac I was used to, except it had so much more. You can select for three different viewing angles. It’s really nice to customize for how big you want your face in the camera. The quality of the camera is really nice and does very well in low light, which I have all the time in my home office. I also really like the highly visible slide thingy that covers the lens so that you know you webcam isn’t providing an image that you don’t want broadcast. Overall, this is a great camera for the money. Highly recommend.

I use this camera on Ubuntu linux and the camera and mic work nicely. As expected, you can't use the Ankerwork software to adjust the FOV in linux. I had hoped that I would be able to adjust the FOV in Windows and then it would stick as a firmware setting so that I could use it at the reduced FOV on linux, but you can't. It already reverts to the undesirably wide FOV. (I specifically bought the C200 in case this was the case, the C300 has a crazy wide default FOV.) I'm docking 1 star from the overall review just because of that and the fact that the default FOV of view is too wide for typical office use so I'm undesirably showing off the exercise equipment and spare shelves in my office. The camera and mic is fantastic though and it does really well in the lighting conditions of my office, which the other equipment I used did not. No more makeup light needed, yay! thanks Anker for making another great product -- wish you could make the ankerwork software available for linux, but I'm just happy the camera & mic work.

This is a great camera in about every respect, but what I wanted it for is the narrow field of view (mainly to hide clutter!). I wish this were a physical switch, but at least the camera remembers what you set which is the next best thing. Great low light performance, good autofocus, and it is much less ugly than a c920.
